Stepping Into the Adventure
Workplace Discipleship 101
An Exploration Moderated by Donna Wright Somerville
This month, on November 21, we explore the Workplace Discipleship 101 adventure. Workplace Discipleship 101: A Primer is the ninth book published by Workplace 313 Executive Director David Gill. He sees it as, in many respects, the culmination of his long career teaching Christian ethics and business ethics – bridging between those two fields and bringing the message home to practical application in the daily lives of workers in all fields. This isn’t just about theory, it’s about the reality of daily life and work in the trenches.
Our forum emcee, Donna Wright Somerville, started her career as a television producer with local shows in Philadelphia, Minneapolis and Boston. At the NBC, ABC and CBS affiliates, she produced some of the top-rated local programming in the country. She received Emmy nominations for her production work, which included “The Phil Donahue Show.” In 1993, she moved to the West Coast and became a program/development producer and talent consultant for CBS, Buena Vista, Paramount Television, History Channel, Home and Garden Television, and The Food Network. Since 2013, Donna has led her non-profit, GRATEFUL GATHERINGS, helping families in transition with home needs, supporting the safety, comfort and success of the whole family. To date, Grateful Gatherings has set up homes for nearly 200 needy families, working with over 20 agency partners, and engaging 4000 volunteers and donors. She and Grateful Gatherings welcome your interest and support!
