Reprinted from the Salt & Light Australia Daily Devotional. There is an unverified story about the origin of the Nobel Prize, created from the fortune of Alfred Nobel, whose wealth came from the invention and development of dynamite. Nobel never spoke publicly about his motivations, but many believe it was inspired by an earlier case of mistaken identity. In 1888, Nobel’s…
By Jim Grubs, reprinted from Minding the Gap. Last week I watched the final sports broadcast of Mark Rosen on WCCO television. It touched my heartstrings. Mark is the leading sportscaster in the Twin City area. He has broadcast the sports section of WCCO News for 50 years! Yes, five-zero years! Five days a week. Twelve months a year. Year…
By Darren Lim, reprinted from the Salt & Light Australia Daily Devotional. Being a Christian in the workplace requires us to consider many perspectives. Reprinted from the Salt & Light Australia Daily Devotional. A few years ago, I was asked by the Gospel Coalition Australia to contribute a reflection on work to their website, and I decided to include a “Letter to Myself as a Young Worker”. To my surprise it was very popular, it seemed to hit a nerve. It occurred to me that…

Swiss-based Christliche Ostmission gave him the opportunity to do so in Romania. Ever since, the mission has been involved in helping develop the business sector, also in other developing countries. “So much more is possible,” says Georges, “If we are open to be inspired by…

In this installment, Joanna invites Christian men to consider the critical role they play in helping women thrive at work. Be sure to read part 1 and part 2 of the series. Men…
This is an introduction to a new series from Made to Flourish about the importance of integrating faith and work conversations within our youth ministries and homes, including the how and why of talking to our kids about vocation and how it relates to our faith. We’ll be reprinting the next post shortly. For believers, whether 17 or 70 years…
