I will become more aware of Christ in me, the hope of glory.
If you are an artist for the Kingdom,
you are called to make the Word flesh.
That’s more than something
we do for 20 minutes
in the morning.
It is a lifestyle that infuses your day to day life.
Can you stand at your easel
and be aware of the Presence of Jesus in you
while you paint?
Can you sit at the computer while you design
and imagine Jesus living in you
while you carry out an assignment?
Can you be aware of Jesus
when you write at your computer,
compose at the keyboard,
practice riffs on the sax,
or chisel away at a block of marble?
Every stroke of the pen,
swipe of a brush,
click of a mouse,
pluck of a string,
is intended to be a prayer.
Are you aware that you are in Him,
and He is in you,
and if you are in Him,
you are in your Father
and your Father is in you?
This process is the process of becoming.
Your life becomes a seamless whole.
Not a bunch of sacred and secular boxes,
where you can be sanctified here,
and undercover there.
No, you are always becoming more and more
like Jesus in every area of your life.
And that life does not end when you die.
Your endless becoming continues
on and on
in the City that He is preparing.
Jesus Christ is not looking for a bunch of religious artists
who flap flags on Sunday
or who do weird religious things.
He is looking for men and women
who have integrated their life in him
into every aspect of their craft.
These ones understand that the Kingdom of God
is within you.
These ones understand that because Jesus is in them
everything they do and produce
is a work of making the unseen visible
for the rest of the world.
Jesus in you for others.
I will become.
